Credits

Credits keep the app simple: uploading and adjusting settings is available before generation, and artwork generation uses credits.

What uses credits

A new artwork generation starts at one credit. Regenerating the same photo can cost half a credit.

What does not use credits

Uploading a photo, changing filters, checking settings, and preparing to generate do not use credits.

Failed generations

If generation fails before artwork is created, the app should explain what happened and return the credit for that failed attempt.

Photo tips

  • Use the preview and filters before spending a credit.
  • Start with standard line weight if you are unsure.
  • Use lighter line weight for small engraving surfaces.
  • Keep credits for real customer-ready attempts rather than poor source photos.

Common mistakes

  • Generating before checking the source photo is sharp.
  • Trying many high-detail variations for a tiny product.
  • Not reading the failed-state message before retrying.
  • Assuming uploads or filter changes spend credits.

FAQs

Do new accounts receive free credits?

New registered users currently start with a small free credit balance for testing the workflow.

Does uploading a photo use a credit?

No. Credits are used when you generate artwork, not when you upload or adjust filters.

What happens if generation fails?

A failed generation should clearly explain whether the credit was refunded.
