Troubleshooting

Most poor results come from source photo quality, too much detail for the final size, or background clutter. Start by checking the photo and settings.

If the result is too busy

Choose a cleaner source photo or a finer line weight. Small products usually need fewer interior lines and less visual texture.

If important detail is missing

Use a sharper photo where the feature is clearly visible, then try standard or bold line weight depending on the material.

If upload fails

Use a supported photo file and avoid extremely large images. If a phone format fails, export the photo as a JPEG and try again.

Photo tips

  • Compare one fine-line and one standard-line generation for small items.
  • Use a photo where the subject is not hidden by glare or shadow.
  • Avoid screenshots of photos where possible.
  • Turn off background removal when the background is intentionally part of the design.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting blurred source detail to become sharp line art.
  • Using dense linework for tiny keyrings or tags.
  • Trying to engrave a result without checking it at final size.
  • Uploading files that have already been heavily compressed.

FAQs

Why are the lines blurry or rough?

The source photo may be low quality, or the result may be too dense for the chosen size. Try a clearer photo or lighter line weight.

Why did the background affect the result?

Busy surroundings can be interpreted as useful detail. Enable background removal or use a cleaner source photo.
